"A Matter of Degrees" Oil, Charcoal and Text Transfers from the United Nations Report on Climate Change, On Canvas, Framed 84” x 60” 2019 When the United Nation’s International Panel on Climate Change released their report in the Fall of 2018, I was so moved by what it said that I wanted to do a piece about it. This is the image I imagined, with the figure nearly life-size and using text from the report in the sky area.
"Melting Ice", oil on canvas, 36" x 48" 2014 This is one of my first pieces on the topic of climate change.
"Palm Oil Plantations" oil on canvas, 48" x 60" 2014, I wanted to paint about the clearing of the Indonesian rain forest for planting palm oil.
"Paradise (California) Lost", oil on canvas, 84" x 60" 2019 I began doing some very large paintings about wildfire which came out of both the fire in Paradise California and the Eagle Creek fire in the Columbia River Gorge.

"A Trillion Single Uses" Diptych Oil and Single-Use Plastic Bag Transfers, 40” x 60” 2019 This double-canvas painting uses the acrylic medium transfers from plastic bags in another interpretation of plastic being incorporated into our environment. The title, “A Trillion Single Uses” refers to the number of single-use plastic bags that are produced and used worldwide each year.
"15 Minutes" Diptych Oil and Single-Use Plastic Bags, 40” x 60” 2019 In this piece I wanted to incorporate actual plastic grocery bags into a painting representing the way that plastic is infiltrating into our natural environment. The title, “15 Minutes” refers to the average amount of time that a plastic bag is used before it is thrown away.
"450 Years to Never" Diptych Oil and Single-Use Plastic Bag Transfers, 40” x 80” 2019 In this two-canvas diptych, I used acrylic medium to transfer the logos and labels off of plastic bags directly on to my canvas and then made my painting of nature over these plastic bag transfers. The title, “450 Year to Never” refers to the amount of time scientists believe it takes for plastics to fully biodegrade.
"What's Left of the Amazon" oil on canvas, 48" x 36", 2014
