The Calla Lily is originally endemic to Central and Southern Africa and was introduced to Europe in the seventeenth century.  Now a common garden plant here in the Pacific Northwest as well as many other parts of the world.  I pass by a grouping of them that catches my attention every day when I walk my dog and was inspired to try making a painting of them.
